Force Precision Needed A CMMC Assessment From GiaSpace
Force Precision is a machining company and Department of Defense Contractor serving as an Aerospace and Defense Manufacturer. The company is based out of Hollywood, Florida, and began operations in 2020.
The owner, David Orr, is a decorated combat veteran. Before starting Force Precision with his partner Russell Barfield, he had an engineering career in Nuclear, Aerospace, and Defense manufacturing for ten years.
Force Precision Needed To Meet CMMC Compliance
DoD contractors must comply with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). The mandate requires all contractors, like Force Precision, to adopt cybersecurity standards based on the framework found in the U.S. Department of Commerce, NIST SP 800-171 regulations.
Furthermore, that program’s design addressed increased cyber risk in the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) due to the loss of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). The documentation describes what is considered necessary levels of cybersecurity processes and practices.
As a Florida DoD contractor, Force Precision had no cybersecurity to protect the CUI they had access to at their company. For David and Russell’s company to remain compliant, they needed to find someone who could provide a CMMC assessment.
Force Precision Reached Out To GiaSpace For Assistance
Fortunately for the Force Precision team, locating a company that could promptly provide them with a Gap Assessment was not far.
One city over from their Hollywood, Florida location in Ft. Lauderdale was Robert Giannini’s company, GiaSpace.
According to Robert Giannini, CEO of GiaSpace, “We completed the Gap Assessment, and now David can schedule for a C3PAO Audit.”
